Starting Jan 1, 2025, Johor will revert to a Saturday-Sunday weekend, ending an 11-year period where Friday and Saturday were designated as the official days off since 2014.
If your company has set up the working day for your Johor office following the previous workdays (Tues-Sat), you can make the changes to the workdays (Mon-Fri) in the system by following the below steps:
ON 1st Jan 2025,
- Login to your admin account > Leave > Settings > Workday > Click "Edit" on the office that is based in Johor
- Make changes to the Johor office's working days & the new OFF DAY AND REST DAY accordingly.
(Note: The below screenshot's settings might not apply to your company workdays/OD/RD arrangement, please make changes according to your company policy).
Important Notes!
- Changes to the workday setting will reflect IMMEDIATE to your company/office's workday so you only can make this changes on/after 1st Jan 2025 (otherwise if you're making changes in 2024, it will reflect for 2024's workday)
- However, if the changes only can make on/after 1st Jan 2025 from workdays Tues-Sun to Mon-Fri, that mean if your staff starts to apply leave for 2025 in this year (2024),
- They will NOT able to apply leave in 2025 that falls on Monday
- They will be able to apply leave in 2025 that falls on Saturday & Sunday
- Therefore, what you can do is either:
- Kindly refrain your staff from applying for 2025 leave until you made changes to system on/after 1st Jan 2025, OR;
- Refrain your staff from applying for 2025 leave that falls on Saturday & Sunday. And inform them that they can't apply leave falls on Monday yet, UNTIL, you made the changes in the system.
