Explaining leave balances
You are able to view and manage your leaves in a very detailed manner through your altHR app. There are a few terms in this section that you should familiarise yourself with:
| Leave policy | The type of leave. For example, sick leave and annual leave. |
| Leave balances | Remaining leaves you can apply for. |
| Leave deduction | Leaves taken or forfeited. |
| Leave entitlement | Leaves you are entitled to at the start of the cycle. |
| Replacement credit | Replacement leaves. |
| Carry forward | Annual leaves carry forward from previous year. |
| Limit per cycle | The maximum leaves you are entitled to based on a particular leave policy in a year. |
The general rule here is Leave Entitlement - Leave Deduction = Leave Balance
